Materialise has launched "The Mimics Innovation Awards" contest at its Annual Conference "Computer Guided Implantology & 3D Medical Modelling" and Mimics User Group Meeting in Leuven, Belgium, on June 5, 2004.

The contest aims at rewarding the most innovative use of the Mimics software by research institutes, universities and companies.

The best publication in each of the 3 categories will receive a money prize worth 5000 euro. An international jury selects the winners.

Wilfried Vancraen, managing director of Materialise: "We are convinced that many interesting research projects never get further than a planning stage, due to a lack of money. We, at Materialise, want to support these researchers in making the world a bit healthier."
